This commemorative banknote depicts portraits of President Sukarno (Soekarno) and Prime Minister Mohammad Hatta, the first leaders of independent Indonesia. On the green background, Hindu-Buddhist symbols such as the Barong can be seen.
In the upper left corner, a scene illustrates the creation of the first flag of free Indonesia by Fatmawati. In the lower left corner, the Jakarta MRT subway (MRT Ratangga) is shown. In the lower right corner, the Youtefe bridge built in West Papua province is depicted. In the upper right corner, the national symbol of Indonesia, the Garuda Pancasila bird, represents the five fundamental principles of the Indonesian national ideology.
On the reverse, at the top center, the Merah Putih satellite (meaning Red and White, the colors of the national flag) is shown. At the bottom center, children dressed in traditional attire from the various provinces that make up the Indonesian archipelago are depicted.
